Set includes a letter from relative confirming attribution of group and early photograph apparently signed by Congreve in 1896. (Inquire) WWI Miniature MC Group: Period Miniature (Mess Dress Size) World War One Era British Officer's Decoration and Campaign Medal Group. Very Nice English Bar Mounted Set of Medals to Military Cross (MC) Recipient, including the British War Medal, Victory Medal, and Special Constabulary Long Service Medal (George V). These are Beautiful Examples on Original Ribbon Drapes, with British Style Four Place Open Hook Mounting Brooch. All are in Excellent to Near-Mint Condition, with Very Good Ribbon Color and Planchet Patinas. 100% Original Components with only minor signs of age and wear. (Inquire) British "Heavy Brigade" Crimea Medal: to Serjt. John Cleaver, 5th Dragoon Guards. Bars: Sebastopol/Inkermann/Balaklava. Confirmed on the Rolls as a "Heavy Brigade", 5th Dragoon Guards Cavalry Soldier. (Inquire) WWI POW 1914 Star w/Bar: Original Issue in EF+ Condition. Officially impressed to: "7879 / Cpl P. GORDON. / 1/GORD:Highrs". Great example with all original components and ribbon. Corporal P. Gordon, 7879, was part of the 1st Battalion Gordon Highlanders, 8th Brigade, 3rd Division, B.E.F. This 1914 Star with Bar, is for one of the “Old Contemptibles”. It appears Cpl. Gordon was one of the approximately 500 men captured by the Germans on August 26, 1914 at the Battle of Le Cateau, and became a POW for the duration of the War. (SOLD) WWI Royal Navy 1914-1915 Star & RFR LSGC Group: Original Issue in EF Condition. Officially impressed to; 14-15 Star: "K.8987, / W.F. DEVINE, / STO., 1., R.N.", WW1 War & Type 1 Vict. Medal: "K.8987 / W.F. DEVINE, / L.STO. R.N.", Royal Fleet Reserve Long Service and Good Conduct Medal "K.8987, / W.F. DEVINE, / L. STO. R.F.R.". (Inquire) WWI Victory Medal to Canadian: Original Issue in VF+ Condition. Officially impressed to: "302177 DVR. R.GARDNER. C.F.A.". Solid example with all original components and ribbon. Robert Gardner was with the Canadian Field Artillery in the Canadian Overseas Expeditionary Force. Born in 1894 in Hamilton Ontario, he joined the service in September of 1915, and was apparently discharged in February of 1918. Research includes a copy of the Attestation Papers, and confirmation of service from the Canadian Archives. Further research would be of interest, as it is quite possible that he was wounded due to the discharge date prior to the War's close. (SOLD) WWII South African Campaign Group: 1939-1945 Star, 39/45 War Medal, Africa Service Trio. EF Condition, with original components and period ribbon. All three are Officially Impressed "250932 J.G.D. Andrew". Nice Original group including 8 Documents and 1 Photograph in Uniform; including Discharge, Military Driver's License, Medal Qualification and Issue Papers (in English & South African Language), Transportation Receipts, and a 1942 Christmas Card from Madagascar. Andrew was with the 7th Infantry Brigade H.Q. Unit in Madagascar during Operation Ironclad in 1942. Due to some unknown injury or illness, he was discharged from the service in 1943. Additional research included. (SOLD) WWII South African Defense Medal: WWII Campaign Group: 1939-1945 Star, Burma Star, and 39/45 War Medal Trio. EF Condition, with all original components and ribbons. Ribbons are clean, and planchets have only minor signs of age and oxidation. (SOLD)
